The Italian band GRANTORINO, in this first albun "Grantorinoprog", presents a progressive rock something different of the most of Italian Prog bands. Their sound is a very personal and a creative mix of heavy/symphonic styles and in like manner is not much easy to identify what bands have an influence in their sonority. Although, such influences seems coming from bands like KANSAS ( in the more heavy moments, like in the overture of track 5 "Miridiana"), FOCUS (in certain keyboards and guitar passages), GENTLE GIANT ( listen the hammond organ melody in the track 5 "Miridiana" that remenber cleary "Freehand" from GG). Another particularity is the use of "Talk-Box' in the track 3 "Rock Waters", a guitar effect unusual in progressive rock. My rate is 4 stars !!!

La band italiana GRAN TORINO, in questo primo album "grantorinoProg", presenta un rock progressive diverso dalla maggior parte delle band progressive italiane. Il loro suono è un mix molto personale e creativo di stili heavy/sinfonici e in qualche modo non è molto semplice identificare quali band hanno un'influenza nella loro sonorità. Comunque, queste influenze sembrano venire da band quali i KANSAS (nei momenti più pesanti, come nell'introduzione della trak n. 5 "Miridiana"), i FOCUS (in certi passaggi di tastiera e di chitarra), i GENTLE GIANT (ascoltate la melodia di hammond nel brano Miridiana che ricorda chiaramente "Freehand" dei Gentle Giant). Un'altra particolarità è l'uso del "Talk-Box" nella traccia 3 "Rock Waters", un effetto ci chitarra inusuale nel rock progressive. Il mio voto è 4 stelle!!!
